Teagon Overman is a Gillette native that has been racing BMX since 2001. It was not until 2003 that Teagon started to consider BMX racing in a serious light. In 2003 Teagon traveled on a limited basis to the following cities Casper WY, Rocksprings WY, Rapid City SD, and Gillette WY. Later in 2003 Teagon was able to compete on a national level in Mesquite NV. Racing in the 10 Intermediate class Teagon won the ABA U.S. Open. This was Teagon’s biggest win and signaled an end to his intermediate career. With the win in the U.S. Open, Teagon moved into the Expert class, the highest among amateurs . Teagon’s 2003 season ended with his first expert class race at the “Redline Gold Cup National.” Though this was a large step, it signaled the amount of dedication needed to be successful in the sport of BMX.

2004 Race Season witnessed an expansion of national races which Teagon competed. In 2004 Teagon, with the help of great sponsors, was able to race nationals in Utah, Minnesota, Colorado, and the biggest race of the year, GRAND NATIONALS in Tulsa OK. Racing in one of the most competitive classes, Teagon was able to continually improve his race results.

This past fall Teagon traveled to his first ever Grand National Race in Tulsa OK. where he raced against 46 of the fastest 11 year old experts on the planet. Many of these riders are considered “Factory Riders,” sponsored by bike manufactures, part companies, and motorcycle manufactures. Teagon was able to meet his goal of transferring to the quarter finals at this race.

2005 Goals: Teagon hopes to race seven national races in this upcoming season. Two national races in Colorado, and one each in Utah, Washington, Minnesota, Illinois, and Oklahoma. Teagon will also be competing at local and regional races where he will attempt to become Wyoming State champion for a third straight year. In addition, he hopes to be in the top three regional point earners. Regional points are earned by all Wyoming riders regardless of age or skill level.

Most Important: Teagon realizes that he represents himself, his family and his sponsors on and off the track. At all times Teagon is required to show good sportsmanship and to be a good representative for all that supports him. Teagon is required to maintain a Grade Point Average of 3.0 or Better to continue to pursue his racing goals.
