2004 was Hailey's first year competing in BMX racing. She exploded out of the gate early in the year chewing up her competition but suffered a devestaing crash her first race on her home track. Although the crash slowed down her progress, it wasn't long before she was back in the grove of winning. She and her brother took some time off to spend with their grandmother in New Mexico and missed the middle portion of the season. Hailey still finished nineth overall in district points for girls and would have taken the State Championship but she missed 2 months of racing while in New Mexico. She is ready to hit the track hard and compete for the title in 2005.
